About us

Our technology is revolutionising the treatment of HPV infections globally, and is widely used in Dermatology, Podiatry and Oncology, with a number of disruptive applications under development in the fields of Cardiology and Gynaecology.  

The company was started in 2007 by our joint co-founders (current Chief Executive Officer and Chief Technology Officer) and inventors behind the technology. They form part of our highly experienced management team with over 50 years of experience in this field.

You can now find our medical devices in 1000s of clinics and hospitals across the UK, the US, Canada, and Australia.  We are just at the start of our journey and you will be joining our team at a key phase in our growth, underpinned by 3 primary goals: 

  • Expansion into new treatment areas  
  • Development of new markets and a wider global presence  
  • The addition of new talent to our Scottish Headquarters to bring the skills and experience needed to support our plans for growth

Gary Beale
CEO

Gary Beale is Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Emblation. Since forming the organisation in 2008, Gary is responsible for the continual expansion of the business, including lucrative commercial partnerships with a number of global organisations and Emblation’s programme of research and development. 

Eamon McErlean
CTO

Eamon McErlean is our Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer. Since co-founding the organisation in 2008, Eamon is responsible for generating intellectual property and leading the technology and engineering strategy. He has published in international peer reviewed journals, and has authored close to 165 patents cases.

Jonathan Williamson
CCO

Joining the company in 2011 as the 5th employee at a pre-commercialisation stage, Jonathan has led 4 successful product launches in the UK, Canada, Australia, and the US, in addition to growing the OEM business and developing the commercial function. 

Jonathan is a Vice Chair of the ABHI's Scottish working group (Association of British HealthTech Industries) and has recently been invited to join the ILG Internationalisation sub-group. 

Fraser Robertson
CFO

Fraser joined the company in February 2021 with the aim of establishing a Finance and Support function to partner the business as it expands commercial activities in many new territories.  

Fraser is responsible for creating value through the understanding of the Emblation's financial performance, as well as the identification and management of business opportunities and risk.

Fraser brings a wealth of commercial finance and operational experience from his previous roles with Edinburgh Airport, Diageo and RBS.
