About us

Caritas Anchor House is a homelessness charity providing accommodation and life-skills support for single homeless adults in East London. Our driving mission is to ensure that those who walk through our doors grow in confidence and move towards leading independent, self-fulfilling lives by providing education, guidance and personal rehabilitation.

Meet the team

Amanda Dubarry
Amanda Dubarry
Chief Executive

Amanda joined as Chief Executive in March 2018, following 22 years at youth homelessness charity Step by Step. There, she was CEO and largely responsible for the diversification and growth of the charity, from its grass roots beginning to now operating across five counties.

Amanda is a Homeless Link Board Member and sits on their National Advisory Panel, and has held a number of trustee and committee roles at both the national and local level in the health and housing sectors. She is also the Chair of Homeless Link's Ending Women's Homelessness Grants Panel.

She is passionate about making a difference and developing excellent services to achieve meaningful outcomes for service users, and her previous work has been award winning in this respect.

John Lowery
John Lowery
Director of Frontline Services

John joined Caritas Anchor House as Director of Frontline Services in October 2018.

He started working in the homelessness sector in 1984, in day centres and small charities, and went on to deliver high quality housing support and social care services to vulnerable individuals, as Head of Client Services for Home Group across London and the South East.

For 18 years he worked for the crime reduction charity Nacro, including a time as Assistant Director. This reflects his interest in criminal justice which also includes having a MA in Criminology and being a member of the Essex Probation Board in 2000’s. John has recently become a mentor as part of Housing Diversity Network’s Mentoring Programme.

Siva Selliah
Siva Selliah
Director of Finance

Siva joined our team in June 2018. Having worked in finance for over 20 years, and in several housing associations along the way, Siva has comprehensive experience and passion for his work. His previous role was with Greenbrook Healthcare, a primary care organisation caring for NHS patients across London, where he acted as Finance Controller for four years.

He has also worked for small charities providing housing and support for people experiencing homelessness, learning difficulties or mental health problems.

At Caritas Anchor House Siva guides our finance function, which encompasses the coordination of our resident’s personal finances, including housing benefit, alongside the income and outcome streams of our organisation overall.

Craig Hardaker
Director of People

Craig joined the team as Director of People in June 2020. He started his HR career in 2006 with significant experience in change programmes and people development. Craig has previously worked in charities that focused on mental health, breast cancer, learning disabilities and housing for older people which is where he developed his passion for values-based approaches to recruiting, managing and developing people.

Craig has a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resources Management and is a Registered Qualified Test User with the British Psychological Society. He is also a Chartered Member of the CIPD.

His role at Caritas Anchor House will see him lead the work of the People Team and promoting the organisational values and its culture.
