The purpose of the role is to oversee and manage the day to day Transport operation of 6 depots; Aberdeen, Belfast, East Kilbride, Runcorn, Wrexham and York. Ensuring service and budget expectations are met and continuous improvement opportunities are identified and implemented.

To control and direct an efficient highly automated distribution operation, lead teams to deliver sustainable performance and to actively drive productivity, reduce costs and deliver a compliant service to our customers.

Manage the transport bookings and flow of goods through the site

I am currently recruiting on behalf of a chemical distributor who require a Transport Planner to join their business on a M-F basis planning routes for 10-15 vehicles across the Northeast.

The role of Transport Planner will be to plan the delivery of multi-temperature goods business to business utilising the company's fleet and driver in accordance with WTD and transport regulations.

To assist in the day to day running of the delivery to ensure prompt and on time deliveries to customers and depots. This role requires supporting transport and stock control.

As Transport Manager you will be directly reporting into the Site Manager and overseeing the Transport operation. You will be responsible for 50+ heads including Shift Managers, Team Leaders and Drivers. As part of your role you will ensure the smooth running of the site with a focus on Operations, H&S and Compliance
