Job Description

The purpose of this role will be to provide day to day administrative support to the Headteacher. At all times to work to raise the public image of the school and provide a welcoming, professional reception to all school visitors, and to support the administration for recruitment of staff, student admissions and educational visits.

The role of Administrative Support to the Headteacher encompasses a wide range of responsibilities. This includes offering personal, administrative, and organizational support to the Headteacher, handling correspondence and confidential documents, and acting as the primary point of contact for the Headteacher. The position involves attending and documenting confidential staff and student meetings, liaising with various stakeholders, managing the Headteacher's schedule, and ensuring timely preparation for meetings. Additionally, responsibilities extend to supporting the school's Governing Body, including preparing agendas, coordinating paperwork, and managing records. The role also involves various administrative duties such as overseeing student admissions, supporting the school, participating in staff recruitment processes, and managing the school's telephone system. The Administrative Support role plays a crucial part in maintaining effective communication and organizational efficiency within the school community.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate should possess strong IT skills, particularly in MS Office, and demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills for building effective relationships. They must excel in organization, balancing priorities effectively while maintaining high standards. The candidate should handle sensitive issues with discretion, engaging positively with various stakeholders. Enthusiastic, motivated, and committed, they should work well independently and collaboratively, demonstrating flexibility. The ability to meet deadlines efficiently, edit and format MS Word documents, and experience in tasks such as statutory requirements, proofreading, minute-taking, website document uploads, staff, and student recruitment processes is essential.
