Job Description

As a Customs & Excise Manager you will report into the Head of European Customs & Excise on a daily basis and oversee the following lead business areas:

Assisting and leading a team responsible for processing mandatory bonded customs & excise declarations and internal compliance reports.
Manage the continuous improvement of compliance procedures
Provide high quality structured training to a skilled customs & excise team of 4 based around the UK.
Maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders to include: HMRC, Tax Team colleagues, site management, customs & excise responsible staff at sites, customer tax contacts
Oversee mandatory controls as per HMRC Site Approvals and company's own compliance protocols
Maintain an appropriate control environment, including critical master data to timely and accurate excise declarations.
Provide ad-hoc technical support to each site in-scope and, to Business Development as directed.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Customs & Excise Manager, be based anywhere across the United Kingdom, but able to commute to Birmingham for 2 days per week. You will also have the following skills:
