Compliance Officer position with one of the UK's largest banking
Compliance role within financial services organisation
About Our Client
Large UK retail bank looking to add to one of the branch's compliance functions.
Job Description
* Update international sanctions lists in the system
* Monitor transactions
* Manage customer due diligence and KYCs (including reviews)
* Manage Money Laundering / FT Alerts
* Work closely with Group and branch colleagues to collate information on risks and risk-related activity, and to help oversee prompt completion of relevant risk related actions, including the committee's materials
* Produce, maintain and enhance the branch's compliance MIs
* Support a culture of compliance management and awareness in the branch
* Produce the necessary reports for HO's Compliance
* Ensure compliance related policies and procedures are in place and adequately updated
* Help the senior manager implement new regulations in the branch
* Track and ensure delivery of regulation-related training for branch employees
* Provide any additional support the Compliance Manager might require
* Understand the regulatory environment and expectations in the UK to assist the compliance manager in the fulfilment of her duties
* Ensure that all output material is of a high standard as it will be shared at times with the regulator, and regularly with senior stakeholders at group in Spain
* Work collaboratively with others, and model the corporate values of the Group in their day-to-day role
The Successful Applicant
* Be familiar with the business of the branch or able to learn quickly. Be able to understand both the commercial drivers of the business, and the risks that arise from the activities in the branch
* Be familiar with compliance management concepts and UK regulatory requirements, with previous experience in working a compliance or regulatory role, ideally with direct experience of compliance activity
* Have experience in delivering/overseeing high quality analysis and materials, incorporating business, regulatory and compliance perspectives
* Be able to organise time and to delegate effectively to deliver on priorities, even in changing environments
* Be able to engage with detailed regulatory and risk material, engaging with unfamiliar concepts to the level of detail that is required for the specific task
* Have a proficient level of English. A good capacity to read Spanish is necessary
