About Our Client

My client is a leading manufacturing business based in Birmingham.

Job Description

  • Record all incoming purchase invoices
  • Match each purchase invoice against the correct delivery note and purchase order and post to SAGE 300
  • Run a proposal payment report from SAGE 300 and pass to Financial Controller / Management Accountant / Finance Manager to make BACs payments
  • Set up new customers and make appropriate checks (credit, treasury etc)
  • Reconcile supplier statements and request copy invoices if not posted to ledger
  • Handle all queries with companies invoices and liaise with the Sales Person to resolve issues
  • Check, code and post employee expenses and request payments
  • Allocate daily payments and receipts from banking reports to SAGE 300
  • Chase all outstanding debts to ensure that the Company's terms and payment conditions are adhered to
  • Maintain the cash-book in excel and ensure it reconciles to the Cash Management in SAGE 300
  • Advise sales and operations teams regarding customers on credit hold
  • Carry out credit checks for new customers using the Company's credit checking facility (third party)
  • Raising customer invoicing in ERP system
  • Triggering specific ad-hoc payments during the working month
  • Post overhead expenses to SAGE 300 and co-ordinate the coding with department managers
  • Administration of monthly inter-company recharges (sales and purchase ledger)
  • Identification in SAGE 300 of specific incoming purchase invoices and addition of necessary detail to support monthly reporting and analysis
  • General office administration support (filing and other similar duties)
  • Support the Finance Manager with month end closing
  • Cash forecasting on weekly basis

The Successful Applicant

  • Experience and knowledge of finance processes and practice
  • Working knowledge of SAGE 300 highly desirable
  • Availability and understanding to support month end processes and timescales
  • Good level of skill in using Microsoft Excel for data analysis and manipulation
