Our client is a successful business that has seen rapid growth in the past 12 months. They are based in Southampton and do require travel to their offices.

Job Description

As the Accounts Assistant, you will be responsible for:

  • Inputting of invoices into the accounting system
  • Checking of purchase orders and purchase invoices
  • Supplier statement reconciliation
  • Chasing suppliers for VAT invoices
  • Posting supplier and customer payments
  • Managing the accounts inbox and filtering mail to the relevant team member.
  • Credit control - Chasing outstanding invoices via email/phone.
  • Assisting the Finance Manager with reconciliations
  • Ad Hoc Accounts tasks and queries

The Successful Applicant

To be successful for the Accounts Assistant role, you must:

  • Previous experience as an Accounts Assistant or similar.
  • High attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal (English is essential).
  • Positive attitude and work well within a team and independently.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Experience working with well know accountancy packages such as Sage, Xero, Oracle.
