About Our Client

Our client, a well known firm in Horsham are seeking an Account's Assistant / Rent Processing Officer to join their Accountancy Team. Paying circa 28,000.

Job Description


  • Committed to putting external and internal customers first, understanding their needs and expectations and achieving results.
  • Undertakes routine delegated financial management and accounting procedures
  • Work with cross departmental colleagues to provide and share information
  • Ensure that work is carried out in accordance with Group policy and procedures
  • Accurately input data to rent accounts from a variety of sources
  • Responsible for the control and investigation of all defaulted payments and make adjustment postings to correct as appropriate.
  • Responsible for the posting of transactions including payments to residents rent accounts.
  • Responsible for accounting of banking transactions and related journal postings for specific accounts
  • Complete and circulate reconciliations on a periodic basis as required
  • Ensure that systems balance with any errors being investigated and corrected
  • Maintain necessary controls in respect of audit trails.
  • Assist with any requests from Internal or External auditors.
  • Participate in the ad-hoc training of colleagues for all processes
  • Undertake system testing as required
  • Absence cover for the Senior Finance Officer
  • Ensure Rent Revenue Manager is informed of any issues and recommend potential actions where necessary
  • Identify and participate in projects across the Group that support continuous improvement

The Successful Applicant

The candidate will have some experience of the above, ideally:

  • Proven experience of a computerised accounting system
  • Proven experience of working with complex control accounts
  • Basic Bookeeping Skills
  • Excellent Excel, Access and word-processing skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills at all levels
