Our people strategy

The Future is Bright for Hillingdon Hospitals

In October 2018 Hillingdon received a commitment from the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care to support Hillingdon Hospitals in the form of major capital investment.  This commitment, driven by the then Local MP, Boris Johnson,  and current Prime Minister, was driven by the purpose of creating a beacon for high quality healthcare in West London.

Since the announcement of its initial ‘seed funding’ in 2019, Hillingdon Hospitals have made a brilliant start  on their journey; creating plans for a new state-of-the-art hospital to deliver high quality patient care and services to local residents and patients.

Chief Executive Sarah Tedford stated her desire for the plans and investment “to happen at pace” and that she is looking forward to “leading the vital work, working in partnership with our staff, partners and patients to ensure we have the best possible facilities for our community”.

With approximately £450million investment, The Hillingdon Hospital is at the forefront of one of the largest capital investment projects the NHS has seen in decades. In addition, the Government has also committed to invest a further £2.25billion, in the NHS, by 2025 as  part of the new “health infrastructure plan”.
