To manage a portfolio of clients, providing audit and other services to those clients within set budgets for finance and time. Liaise with the clients and the audit team to ensure that the client needs are met. To manage and mentor trainees, senior and semi-senior audit staff.

Roles Operations:          

  • Ensure that audit and other services provided to the client are carried out in an efficient and timely manner, and generally monitor the workflow.
  • Ensure that letters of engagement and permanent files are kept up to date
  • Ensure that budgets and resources are planned and prepared in advance
  • Attend pre year-end audit planning meetings with clients
  • Be prepared to share successes and failures and give honest feedback to improve Audit’ performance.
  • Prepare management letters on each audit carried out and make recommendations to clients
  • Ensure effective communication with the client, partners, other departments and audit
  • Carry out chargeable professional work, standard chargeable hours to be agreed before the start of each year
  • Computer operation including accounts production, alphatax, spreadsheet use and other applications as appropriate
  • Continual personal development and improvement of technical skills
  • Integration with other departments and all levels of staff
  • Maintain and enhance the firm’s reputation

Time and fee management  

  • Manage the billing process with the client and analyse recovery
  • Review work in progress regularly and investigate any unexpected anomalies

People

  • Review audit team’s performance and provide accurate feedback
  • Take an active role in the development of the audit team and provide on the job training
  • Technical training of staff and highlighting staff training requirements
  • Being receptive to training provided
  • Develop and motivate the team
  • Mentor and support trainees
  • Delegation and coaching to ensure that Creaseys can develop internal career structures and promote from within the firm
  • Self-development and maintenance of CPD records
  • Be a role model

Information

  • Provide reports on work in progress, billing and recovery
  • Report on resource requirements
  • Take part in marketing and networking activities
  • Participate in review of portfolio performance at team meetings, be aware of individual targets, departmental targets and firms targets
  • Take a proactive involvement in the audit department, make suggestions for improvements and work with the audit team to bring about those improvements

Who we're looking for

You will be a qualified accountant with considerable experience of heading up audits for a firm of chartered accountants. You will be ACA or ACCA qualified and will have taken charge of a team, running audits and preferably have at least some experience of running a portfolio. You'll be a strong team player and looking for an excellent opportunity to advance your career.
