Deputy Expenses Manager

The successful candidate will manage the non-trade accounting function for the Company. The Company runs a multi-currency accounting system and the job holder will be expected to handle transactions involving foreign currency, although the vast majority of expenses are denominated in sterling.

 

Principle duties:

-          responsibility for one member of staff

-          checking/authorisation of all non-trade related expenses (including all employee expenses claims)

-          checking authorisation of expense allocations/recharges, Information Service Fees and non trade related service fees

-          checking/authorisation of other related invoices and receipts

-          posting of related Head Office Current Account entries and overall management of the Head Office Current Account

-          maintenance of ledgers

-          checking/posting of all new expense related customer/vendor registrations

-          accounting function for two small related entities

-          provision of cost analyses to management

-          other ad-hoc reconciliations/duties that may be required

Who we're looking for

Essential 

-          Practical experience of managing an expenses function

-          Good tax knowledge in relation to expense issues ie. VAT, Income Tax & Corporation Tax

-          Self motivated and able to work under minimum supervision

-          Excellent organisational and time management skills as the volume of transactions is high; together with an ability to work to deadlines and under pressure

-          Accuracy and attention to detail

-          Good interpersonal skills

-          Word and Excel skills to at least intermediate level (eg. pivot tables etc.)

Desirable

-          Experience of SAP

-          Formal qualifications

 

About our client

My client is one of  Japan’s largest general trading company. 

The Accounts department consists of 13 staff and is split into three sections: Management Accounts Group, Accounting Group and VAT. This vacancy is in the Accounting Group.
