In the past 12 months Oliver Valves have rapidly increased their production capacity after securing the biggest single project in the businesses history - A multi million pound order from Brazil's largest energy firm.
Description:
The successful candidate will be tasked with developing financial controls & procedures to improve visibility and enhance cost reduction measures within specific areas, such as gross margin returns, inventory sourcing and management and all direct cost centre's plus overheads.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identification of weaknesses that contribute to erosion of GM
- Inventory sourcing solutions to eliminate unnecessary cash spend
- Action plans based on audits performed of major project work to evaluate real GM achieved versus budget
- Purchasing analysis of both standards and non standard items in the UK and India
- Inventory impact of surplus and obsolete items against profits and cash
- Other direct costs – wage, overtime, rework
- ERP processes that corrupt actual GMs reported
- Focus on indirect costs such as painting, inspection (3rd party) air/sea freight
- Analyse Oliver Valves India activities in respect of volumes, inventory and ERP processes
- Other management accounting responsibilities as directed by the Financial Director
Profile:
- Previously worked in a finance department within a Manufacturing business.
- Excellent working knowledge of Manufacturing Cost Accounting
- Strong Analytical Skills
- Formal Cost Accountancy Qualification or AAT / Part CIMA qualified experience
- Excellent communicating skills
- Ability to challenge the “status quo”
