Financial Analyst

About our client:

My client is marketing leading within there industry.

Description:

The role will involve the following duties:

  • To prepare and process accruals, recharges, journals, and income for company for month and year end and ensure balance sheet codes are clear by period end.

  • To report on and drill down data on the consolidated ledger to conduct analysis on this information (E.g. Variance Analysis).

  • To produce month and year-end financial information and analysis, to communicate and to review month end reports with the manager, explaining variances and completing any action required, rectifying any errors or variances.  To continually develop and review the financial information pack.

  • To produce overtime, standby, and callout models and reports on a monthly basis.

  • To assist in the preparation of next years budget including detailed forecasting, reconciliation and upload this information.

  • To deliver ongoing financial awareness training to Team leaders, managers, and co-ordinators to ensure they fully understand the financial reports they receive and how their budget is spent.  E.g. Headcount, overtime and budget.

  • To provide advice and guidance on an ad hoc basis in response to requests from the business. (E.g. reports on overtime).

Profile:

The successful candidate will be:

The role holder requires knowledge of book keeping (E.g. using journals / for accruals, double entry accounting, where to allocate electricity costs/recharges, etc).  Requires accounting knowledge (E.g. balance sheets/month end reports) coding structures, and of Accounting Standards (E.g. Financial Reporting Standards (FRS), Statements of Standard Accounting Practice (SSAP) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP).  Knowledge is required of processes and procedures within finance.  This includes month and year-end, prepayment, accrual and journal procedures.  It also includes VAT policy and procedures.   The role holder requires knowledge of financial systems (E.g. People Soft, Oracle, MIMS, and Business Objects), and of MS Office, in particular Excel (E.g. to drill down through information using filters, v-lookup, pivot tables).
