Description:
Working in a large, highly productive finance department, the position reports into a Commercial Finance Manager. With over 200 cost centres, this department is an integral provider to both internal and external stakeholders. This position will be tasked with the management of 50 cost centres from an overhead and management accounting perspective.
Key Accountabilities:
- Provide accurate and timely Management Accounts on a monthly basis to a portfolio of cost centres.
- Produce commentary for areas of responsibility determined by UK reporting (period actual vs budget, YTD vs budget, period vs forecast, YTD vs Forecast, YTD vs Prior year).
- Produce budgets and quarterly forecasts for areas responsible for including commentary on movements.
- Produce robust Balance Sheet reconciliations to ensure compliant with UK Accounting policies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with budget holders and divisional Finance Director's/Controller's through regular reviews to aid and increase understanding of their business areas and make challenges/propose improvements where appropriate.
- Work alongside Overhead Accounting Manager and team to deliver future divisional transition to a shared services format.
- Assist with process improvement, increase controls, and reporting flows.
- Develop analysis methodology, and liaise with the business to aid commercially focused KPI's improvement.
- General Ledger management; including journal entries.
- Accruals and prepayments
- Inter-company reconciliations.
- Assist with monthly reporting pack production.
Profile:
This is a very exciting role, and a business that will look to develop an active studier of CIMA or ACCA into a very accomplished commercial management accountant. The business is searching for someone who has a strong academic track record (A-levels, Degree, AAT or equivalent), and the individual must ideally have passed exams on CIMA or ACCA.
Applicants need to have practical exposure to producing management accounts to UK Accounting standards (UK GAAP). This includes skills in the following areas:
- Journals, monthly accruals and prepayments.
- Reporting of monthly numbers in a corporate environment (cost centre and report packs ideally).
- Ability to take autonomy for a full set of accounts, and work on own initiative.
- Strong communication skills - verbal and written.
- SAP desirable (or similar ERP Software).
