Accountant

The main purpose of the role is to discuss and set up policies for componentisation in liaison with all relevant staff in departments.

You will be required to provide a full review of the asset register to ensure assets are correctly recorded and categorised. You will also be tasked with advising on processes to capture changes in assets to ensure the register is updated as required.

In addition, you will be required to set up processes for recording new valuation data required under the changed CIFPA regulations and you will set up structure for SAP to work on this basis.

It will be your responsibility to set up the processes for determining the nature of leases to ensure correct accounting treatment is followed.

The successful candidate will:

• Be part qualified
• Have an up to date knowledge of IFRS of local authorities
• Have worked within a local authority organisation previously
• Be able to guide colleagues and managers
• Have used SAP in a previous role.

Where specific UK qualifications are required we will take into account overseas equivalents.
