Shipping Administrator

• Performing Shipping Functions for both Domestic & Export shipments from UK, Germany & USA
• Investigating, sourcing & validating data to generate documentation to satisfy Customers, Customs, Export Licence Authorities (UK, Germany & US) Carriers, Banks (L/C) & internal customers to appropriate standards, meeting preference, financial and legalistic requirements
• Acquiring SIELS, and utilising available open licences for ‘controlled’ exports. Maintaining required levels of records for audit purposes and operating under mandate that all activities to be in compliance with US, EU and UK (BIS) export control regulations
• Utilising most advantageous preference regimes if applicable, with overriding principle that all activities to be in compliance with UK HMRC regulations
• Apply for Export Licences
• Keep records for Licence Authority Audit
• Prepare shipping documentation
• Make L/C presentations
• Arrange shipments (including reverse logistics) with couriers / freight forwarders / integrators / transport specialists
• Advise internal colleagues (project managers / order management etc of ‘shipping/export control’ specifics
• Attend various meetings, providing shipping/export control input.
• Respond to ‘customer’ enquiries
• Issue shipping instructions to US & German consolidation hubs
• Obtain CoOs as required
• Issue import clearance instructions

• Strong shipping office experience covering exports & imports
• Knowledge of Customs Preference Regimes & Tariff Codes
• Export Licence experience
• Letter of Credit experience
• Individually motivated with initiative and able to work under continual pressure
• Team player
• Good communicator at all levels
• Computer versatile
• You must be available at short notice and able to commit to the assignment duration of circa 9 months
