Description:

With extensive responsibilities and a high degree of autonomy, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and commercially minded Credit Manager. You will be instrumental in the delivery of first class customer service both externally and internally throughout the business and play a pivotal role within the existing finance function based in the West Midlands. 

Reporting into the Head of Finance, the key function of the role is to manage and lead the Credit Control departments within this organisation. In what is a highly commercial role, your accountabilities will include:  

  • Overall responsibilities for up to 30 indirect reports and management of 3 Supervisors
  • Promote and maintain relationships to ensure credit control standards are adhered to and consistency of processes maintained
  • Drive the implementation of processes and new technologies to ensure continued improvement in cost reduction and service levels to successful conclusion
  • Development and confirmation of credit policies and procedures
  • Reduction and maintenance of overdue debts and improvement of DSO
  • Manage debtor risk and exposure to ensure that bad debts are minimised
  • Provide accurate and detailed month end reporting
  • Ensure that Supervisors and staff members have clearly defined objectives and that they are developed and motivated to achieve the required standard of performance
  • Monitor and review operational costs and performance against agreed plans and budgets

 

Profile:

As Credit Manager you will be required to have a strong and confident personality coupled with the ability to work as part of a team. You will need to demonstrate the highest levels of internal and external communication and be able to cultivate relationships at all levels including Board level. 

Technical skills required include:

  •  ICM qualified     
  •  Extensive knowledge of accounts receivable processes and practices
  •  Previous exposure within a Credit Management role
  •  Demonstrate management of a high volume AR activity, with knowledge of associated controls and procedures
  •  Delivery of first class customer service  to a diverse portfolio of customers
  • Ability to manage change within a fast paced environment
