Description:
The role is working within the infrastructure finance team, reporting to the Divisional Financial Controller.
The purpose of the function is to ensure strong Financial Control of the groups cost base and to ensure that the Groups Financial Cost targets are achieved. This will be delivered through strong world class Financial Governance and ensuring compliance with the Group policy. the role is to provide value added support to all our businesses, through the management accounting process.
Overall purpose of the role is to manage areas of the support costs incurred by the business. In order to complete this, to the necessary standard, the individual needs to monitor all Purchase Orders raised by the business and Invoices received. By performing these tasks the individual should be able to provide accurate forecasts and postings when required and ensure that explanations for variances can be discussed.In addition the individual needs to able to provide overhead analysis on a regular basis to ensure that the costs involved are controlled and overspend does not occur.
Role Responsibilities:
- Authorisation of all Purchase Orders & Invoices that relate to areas of support costs. This should be performed on a daily basis and all entries logged to ensure accurate forecasting & postings.
- All relevant Balance Sheet accounts should be reconciled on a monthly basis and the individual should have a full understanding of all items that make up the balance.On a monthly basis the individual should produce a number of reports highlighting support costs by type. These should include comparisons between Prior Month, AOP and any Re-forecast.
- Liaising with the relevant departments to resolve all queried invoices in a timely manner.
- To deal with phone and email queries in relation to your agreed areas of responsibility.
- To adapt your work as the business changes
Profile:
Candidate must have the following profile:
- Graduate calibre (1st or 2:1 degree, or equivalent)
- Degree in an Accountancy & Finance (or associated area)
- Understanding of accounting procedures
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong work ethic
Where specific UK qualifications are required we will take into account overseas equivalents.
