Description:
Over view of department:
- Responsible for between 20 and 25 staff including 2 team leaders (direct reports)
- Managing over 11,000 suppliers
- Processing over 2.6m invoices per year
- Reconciling 15,000 statements per year
- Pay in excess of £30BN per year to our suppliers
The role is accountable for:
- Managing and developing the progress of the Control and development team.
- Ensuring system processes, working practise and month end commitments are complied with, whilst continuously reviewing and improving working practices.
- Working with Head of Department to identify skill gaps across teams and implement appropriate development.recruitment needs.
- Planning & prioritisation of workloads of a number of teams to meet demands of the business.
- Responsibility for ensuring best practice processes and standards are implemented and maintained.
- Continuous review of AP systems and processes and recommendations of improvements
- Understanding, adherence and reinforcement of Company policies, such as Health & Safety, Confidentiality, Company systems.
- Other duties as requested by Accounts Payable Manager.
The roles performance will be assessed/measured by:
- Successful achievement of hitting deadlines.
- Successful delivery of monthly reports and set objectives.
- Review of project plans/adherence to deadlines/projects deadlines met/success of projects.
- Compliance with company procedures.
- Core Values and Principle KPI's implemented and operational.
Profile:
The successful candidate will have advanced IT skills in excel and power point, extensive knowledge of AP accounting and GRNI accounting.
Confidential and reliable, ability to make decisions in a fast paced organisation , whilst considering the consequences.
Coach and develop a high performing team, having the ability to communicate in a professional and effective manner at all times
Previous experience in leading a large team, strong leadership skills and knowledge of Oracle (desirable but not essential).
Where specific UK qualifications are required we will take into account overseas equivalents.
