My client is a leading commodities trader with offices world wide. This position will be based in their City office.
Description:
The role of Financial Accountant is to assist with development of the central financial accounting function and through it record the Company’s transactions, assets and liabilities in an accurate and timely way and to report on those elements to facilitate effective control of the Company’s financial affairs.
Main responsibilities include:
- Assist with preparation of Statutory Accounts
- Assistance with monthly reporting and ad hoc duties as required
- Prepare weekly credit control reports, including outstanding debt and follow up on overdue balances
- Review and posting of the monthly bad debt provision
- Monthly allocation of trade finance income to gross margin and analysis for reporting
- Maintaining the fixed asset register and post monthly depreciation
- Working Capital/Debt Analysis
- Review combined ledger balances
- Prepare monthly reconciliations
- Review of KYC checks (Anti Money Laundering and D&B reports) and assist with setting credit limits
- Maintaining counter party master data in ITAS
- Assist with monthly default risk and outstanding debt reporting
- Assist with the monthly balance sheet review (ITAS & SAP combined)
- Assist with review of SOX policies, procedure and testing
Profile:
The successful applicant should have/be:
- Part-qualified Accountant CIMA/ACCA
- Knowledge of SAP (advantageous)
- Microsoft suite knowledge including advanced Excel
- SOX Knowledge
- Statutory accounts preparation
- Self starter
Where specific UK qualifications are required we will take into account overseas equivalents.
