Description:

This role would suit an accounts assistant/assistant management accountant looking for the next step in their career. Responsibilities will include:

GENERAL LEDGER
  • Posting and filing of all general ledger journals
  • Preparation and posting of working in progress activity
  • Post revenue and deferred income journals
  • Posting fixed asset journals
  • Assistant in preparing audit documentation
  • Posting and filing of all general ledger journals
  • Preparation and posting of payroll journal
  • Petty cash control and journals
  • Weekly reporting and analysis of the companies performance
 FIXED ASSETS
  • Maintenance of fixed asset register
  • Documentation for additions, disposals and write offs
  • Preparation of monthly deprecation calculation
  • Reconcile register to general ledger
  • Annual inventory and audit
 VAT
  • Preparation of quarterly VAT return
  • Reconciliation of VAT to general ledger

Profile:

The successful candidate must have completed their AAT qualification and must be actively studying towards either CIMA or ACCA along with the following:
  • Able to understand and explain complex accounting issues to all levels within the business including non-finance professionals.
  • Have experience of dealing with external and internal auditors and preparing any required analyses.
  • Must have good working knowledge of Microsoft products, particularly Excel to advanced level.
  • Must have the confidence to liaise with all levels within the business.
  • Must understand the importance of meeting required deadlines and producing accurate results.
  • Excellent workload management and organisational skills
  • Assumes ownership for getting a job done and takes pride in their work
  • The individual needs to have experience of working within a team environment.
  • Must be aware of the importance of providing high quality information and be able to communicate effectively when faced with problems/queries.

Where specific UK qualifications are required we will take into account overseas equivalents.

What's on offer

The basic salary is negotiable circa £23,000 + free parking + exceptional study support and a blue chip benefit package
