Credit Manager

Description:

Management Responsibilities

  • Maintenance of the group bad debt provision, it’s reporting to group Companies and to group FD.
  • Responsible for the collection of monthly debtor management data from group Company’s and subsequent preparation of Global debt and risk reports
  • Responsible for reviewing aged debts on a monthly basis with divisional management and thereafter ensuring appropriate action is undertaken to deliver KPI’s 
  • Responsible for the preparation of monthly divisional debt and customer reports
  • Ensure effective reporting of the performance of credit control and cash recovery through the delivery of the monthly reporting packs both UK and Global
  • Act as coach and mentor to the divisional teams to continuously improve performance on dispute resolution and cash collection
  • Review team performance against agreed objectives and provide management with appropriate feedback.
  • Identify & support continuous improvement opportunities (both system and procedural).

Process Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring the department continually defines and meets key performance metrics.
  • Responsible  for the, management of end to end cash collection processes in  all UK based group Company’s
  • Responsible for creation and maintenance of new customer accounts
  • Responsible for posting and allocation of cash receipts
  • Responsible for Allocation and reporting of movements on Inter-Company sales ledgers
  • Act as escalation point for problematic accounts.
  • Responsible for referral of accounts to Legal Services
  • Review of disputes and  recovery matters with divisional heads
  • To manage and maintain records of all Insolvencies and related claims
  • To prepare ad hoc debt and risk reports as required.

Profile:

Successful candidates will have a proven track record in credit management within a service industry, ideally from a large Plc. 

You will have exceptional communication skills and an ability to build effective working relationships with both internal account managers and clients.  Long term relationships are key to the ongoing success of the organisation - an ability to maintain and develop them is critical.

You will be experienced in preparing detailed Group reports on the current debt position and presenting them to Senior Management -

Advanced Excel is essential.

Where specific UK qualifications are required we will take into account overseas equivalents.
