Credit Control Manager

Crawley • Permanent • £30000 - £35000

 

About our client:

After a management buy out in 2008 our client has gone from strength to strength and in the next 6 months they are due to double their current client database.

As a largely contract driven business this will vastly increase work flow and profit.

Description:

Our client is looking for a motivational manager who is able to get the best out of a team of 3-5 credit controller but is happy to roll their sleeves up to get involved.

Duties include: 

 

  • Responsible for timely collection of overdue debts from current customers and escalation and monitoring of matters as required with sales force
  • Lead, manage, train and develop 5 person credit control team
  • Lead by example with a customer centric approach whilst demonstrating success in recoveries 
  • The team’s main activity is the making of outbound telephone calls using a diarised contact management system, supported by automated reminder letters and statements
  • The team speaks with our c.8,000 customers in a helpful but firm manner, explaining contractual terms, account balances and assisting with problem resolution
  • The team also takes inbound telephone calls from customers with account queries, and takes appropriate action on service and supply referrals on accounts with overdue debts
  • Control team activity levels, effectiveness of calls, follow-up, and escalation procedures to ensure overall efficiency of debt collection and incentivisation as appropriate
  • Responsible for daily monitoring and liaison with sales management and executives when escalation procedures are triggered through to cost effective outcomes
Liaise closely with Litigation Manager who is responsible for breaching customer accounts when necessary, negotiating timely and commercial settlements with non-current customers, and pursuing contractual entitlements through to cost effective conclusion

Profile:

Our client is looking for a candidate who has previous experience of working within a contract driven business ideally small high volume contracts.

You will be liaising closely with the sales team and must be able to demonstrate your experience of successes in this area within previous roles.

As a person you will be required to motivate and drive a team to deliver high output of phone activity and again must have a proven tract record in staff management.

You will not be required to chase difficult or bad debt so you must be someone who enjoys collections of current debt.

Where specific UK qualifications are required we will take into account overseas equivalents.
