About our client:
My client is a large Financial Services organisation.
Description:
Supporting month end close; posting journals, reconciling actuals to supporting MI files, investigating and documenting explanations for variances to forecast. Helping to define the optimum HR/SSF operating model. Assisting with the project work required to get us to the optimum operating model. Managing processes to support the monthly/quarterly/year end process for the group centre including the generation, reconciliation and substantiation of ledger entries for Group Centre division. Month/Quarter and year end reporting ensuring that all information is complete and accurateEnsure all tasks are carried out with adherence to the relevant process controls including the SSF SOX packs. Completion of monthly balance sheet reconciliations and commentary Reviewing and liaising with Decision Support Managers to resolve issues arising from the financials. Active involvement in continuous improvement activities, especially focussing on improving HR’s current reporting processes. Carrying out a monthly reconciliation and substantiation of all accounts.
Profile:
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a Financial Services environment.
- Specific knowledge of and experience of working with the Walker General Ledger and Caustic.
- Strong analytical skills coupled with a structured methodical approach to analysing and investigating and presenting data issues.
- Proven ability to work with large volumes of complex data, demonstrating attention to detail and high quality standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to manipulate data to aid analysis and reporting in INEA, Business Objects, MS Excel.
- Part Qualified Accountant (or qualified by experience)
- Ability to work to a tight deadlines
- Sound analytical skill
- Ability to use own initiative
