Credit Risk Manager

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Head Office function in Birmingham as a key player of the 30-strong Credit & Collections team. Reporting into the Head of Credit, the Credit Risk Manager will be responsible for managing the credit risk on the £35 million portfolio with a database of 40,000 live accounts. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing, motivating and leading a team of Credit Risk Analysts
  • Full responsibility for training, appraisal and objective setting and regular reviews
  • Set targets and KPI's for the credit risk team to ensure maximum performance and commercial decision making capabilities
  • Regular monitoring and reviewing of credit scoring processes
  • Effectively communicate the risk strategy throughout the business
  • Administrate bad debt write offs
  • Liaise with insolvency practitioners to ensure proof of debt logged
  • Regular contact with credit reference agencies
  • Ensure adherence to credit risk policies
  • Effective liaison and communication with sales and marketing to ensure the credit risk strategy is aligned to maximise profitable sales

Who we're looking for

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a proven track record within a Credit Risk environment and must have previous exposure of managing a small team within this area. You must possess highly developed communication skills in order to liaise with internal customers across various different departments throughout the business and foster relationships with third party credit reference agencies. You will have had previous dealings within a business to business environment and exposure to commercial underwriting and credit scorecards is essential.

You must be a member of the ICM in order for your application to be considered and preferably educated to degree standard. This is an excellent opportunity to take full control of the department, implementing and improving standard working practices.
