Assistant Management Accountant

As Assistant Management Accountant, you will be responsible for monthly management accounts preparation for a number of cost centres. Working closely with other areas of the business, you will develop reporting and management information providing financial support to all areas of the business. The role will involve a high degree of analysis and performance review, identifying any areas of concern and highlighting issues. You will be required to challenge senior management and build relationships throughout the business to both internal and external customers.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Preparation of Monthly Management Accounts for a number of cost centres
- Provide accurate, timely and relevant month end information as per the requirements of the business
- Detailed analysis and reconciliation of control accounts and balance sheet accounts
- Maintenance of the fixed asset registers
- Corporation tax and VAT schedules
- Ownership of detailed costing analysis and schedules
- Turnover, showroom and stands rebate calculation and analysis
- Provide P&L summary information as requested
- Monthly budgeting and cash flow forecasting for each cost centre
- Undertake reviews with Cost Centre Managers on a regular basis to ensure effective communication of the financial results and implications of expenditure
- Provide advice based on results to enable Managers to improve business performance
Who we're looking for
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded Part Qualified accountant to join this expanding business and provide support to the Management Accounts function. You must be currently studying towards either CIMA or ACCA and be able to demonstrate a proven track record within an accounting role and a good understanding of double entry bookkeeping.
Strong Excel skills are essential in order to hit the ground running. You must have previous exposure to Look Ups and IF StatementsYou will be committed to your work and be constantly striving to improve processes and systems within the department and business.
