Financial Accountant

West Lothian • Permanent • £22000 - £25000

The main purpose of the role is to provide support and assistance to the UK General Ledger Team Leader and UK Accounting Manager which includes:

  • Producing P&L trend and variance analysis  and month end supporting schedules
  • Complete nominated balance sheet reconciliations
  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley control environment
  • Assist the UK General Ledger Team Leader in the preparation of reporting pack and queries
  • Prepare and post US GAAP adjustments
  • Prepare, review and/or post monthly accruals and prepayments
  • Maintain good working relationships with the auditors
  • Maintain compliance with statutory requirements
  • Maintain the integrity of the accounting environment in accordance with US and UK GAAP and group procedures
  • Ensure tight financial controls are maintained across the UK general ledgers
  • Continually enhance the Company’s reputation for excellent Customer Service both internally and externally
  • Maintain good working relationships with other key teams
  • Ensure service is delivered in line with agreed controls and procedures
  • Support and champion continuous improvement opportunities (both system and procedural)

Who we're looking for

The ideal candidate will have a strong accounts background and be part qualified in either ACCA or CIMA.  You must be a bright, ambitious candidate who would like the opportunity to progress with a large organisation.

More importantly, you will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels across the group and with team members. Knowledge of ERP systems and oracle is beneficial.
