Job Description

The HR Advisor's main duties and responsibilities :


  • Supporting managers in the full process of recruitment and selection.
  • Identifying and advising on the best approach for each opportunity which appreciates available resources and methods whilst adopting a creative approach
  • Identifying and managing relationship with our recruitment partner.

Employee Relations

  • Dealing with grievance and disciplinary cases to ensure a fair process is followed and thorough investigations conducted.
  • Liaising with Unions where necessary and effectively escalating more complex issues to the HR Business Partner.
  • Supporting the HR Business Partner on restructuring and acquisitions as required.

Policy and Process

  • Ensuring effective application, roll-out and communication of the policies within the business.
  • Conducting line manager workshops as necessary to ensure managers are equipped with basic employment law knowledge, policy and process knowledge etc.

HR Projects

  • Contributing towards and leading ad hoc HR projects e.g. key talent process, annual salary bench marking, annual pay/ bonus review, presentations to managers on changing legislation etc.
  • Seeking out improvements to all aspects of the employee life cycle, specifically talent acquisition, performance appraisal cycle and employees exiting the business.

The Successful Applicant

  • Be driven, ambitious and commercial
  • Strong generalist HR experience
  • Exposure to tech/digital environment or sound commercial understanding of the digital landscape.
  • A hands-on approach
  • Ability to respond within a fast paced and ever-changing environment
  • Working knowledge of HRIS
  • CIPD qualified
  • Previous work experience operating at Advisor level within a HR generalist role in a similar industry such as media, publishing or subscriptions global business
  • Proven organisational skills, with an ability to prioritise high workloads working to tight deadlines.
  • Credible and influential with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience of dealing with all levels of management and of influencing and guiding their decisions and actions
