Job Description

Service Charge Officer will be expected to cover the following:

  • To provide an effective service charge accounting, billing for all tenure types in accordance with agreed policies and procedures
  • To collaborate with Neighbourhood Services and Leasehold Services or other external organisations in order to ensure that all costs are identified accurately and recharged appropriately.
  • To implement policies in relation to the setting of service charges ensuring that all statutory obligations with respect to service charges are met
  • Respond to accurately to queries or complaints regarding service charges
  • Build effective working relationship with internal and external customers.

The Successful Applicant

Knowledge required for the Service Charge Officer role:

  •  Knowledge and best practice in relation to service charges accounting
  •  Experience of working in a high volume intensive environment
  •  Experience in the use of IT to a good level including Excel spread sheet and Word
  • Range of experience in the use of housing systems (Northgate), SUN, purchase ordering system
  •  Excellent understanding of the legal framework surrounding service charge apportionment
