Job Description

The successful candidate for the Senior Credit Controller position will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Contacting customers to obtain payment of outstanding invoices and overdue debts in accordance with agreed procedures and targets

  • Escalating actions on unpaid debts, involving management where necessary

  • Developing and maintaining good relationships with external customers to assist the invoice processing and payment process

  • Investigating and resolving all customer queries with Business teams support when necessary, including account reconciliations

  • Developing and maintaining good relationships with Exchange staff, particularly in the business areas served

  • Developing a good knowledge of the Exchange invoicing process in order to be able to deal efficiently with customer queries

  • Performing all necessary administration in respect of customer ledgers and accounts, including allocating cash receipts and credit notes, recommending cash refunds and write-offs, and general customer account maintenance

  • Assisting in the preparation of month end reports where necessary

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate for the Senior Credit Controller position should have:

  • A-level minimum education, grade C or above
  • Institute of Credit Management qualification / membership, AAT or equivalent preferred
  • Previous credit control experience is essential. It is likely the successful candidate will have previous experience working in similar sized or larger sales ledger environments ideally within Financial Services
  • Experience of dealing with high volumes of delinquent invoices and pressured deadlines essential
  • Must have good IT experience, which will include competent levels of Excel and Word
  • Experience of Oracle accounts systems essential
