A very large and extremely stable business based in W. Byfleet with free parking provided and easy access via public transport.

Job Description

The Sales Ledger role involves;


  • Setting up of Sales Accounts and agreeing credit limits with Head of Finance following a financial review of the new client.

  • Monitoring Project Application Dates and liaising with Project Quantity Surveyor to ensure invoices raised timely.

  • Processing invoices and receipts

  • Undertake day to day financial transactions including verifying, classifying, computing, raising, posting and recording accounts receivable data in compliance with financial policies and procedures.

  • Monthly raising and issue of Debtors Statements and reconciliation of the Debtors Account and Sales Ledger.

  • Liaise with Clients and Quantity Surveyors to resolve any invoice issues arising.

  • Undertake Credit Control activities to ensure prompt payment of all monies due. (NOTE - the collections part of the role is limited and only makes up about half a day per week)

  • Generate financial statements and reports detailing accounts receivable status


  • Setting up new accounts

  • Undertaking credit checks and agreeing Credit Limits.

  • Producing invoices

  • Allocating receipts

  • Issue of Monthly Debtor Statements.

  • Monthly Reconciliation of Sales Ledger to Debtors Account

  • Pro-active Credit Control.

  • Input into the Cash Forecasting process regarding receipts.

  • Resolving Invoice queries

  • Identification of VAT status of Projects and ensuring application to invoices correctly.

  • Set up project invoice monitoring processes to ensure timely billing

  • Assisting with the general administration duties within the Finance team.

  • Ad hoc activities as and when arising

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate for the Sales Ledger role will;

  • Have previous Sales ledger experience.
  • be looking for more of a processing role than a collections role (the role is more sales ledger / general accounts, then Credit Control collections)
  • Live locally to W. Byfleet
