About Our Client

This client works within the Property / Student Accommodation industry in the heart of the City of London.

They are a large national business with plans to expand even further.

The revenue accountant role sits within their central finance function of around 10 people.

Job Description

The key responsibilities for the Revenue Accountant:

  • Completion of bank reconciliations
  • Fortnightly reconciliation of PDQ & cash/cheque banking taken at residence
  • Query & resolve any discrepancies with the residence team
  • Preparation of monthly income reconciliations
  • Comparison of budget to actual accommodation fees figures
  • Provide detailed explanations of any variances
  • Assist with reporting (summer income and legal & debt)
  • Update figures for the various reports on a weekly basis
  • Reports are circulated to the management teams - any queries raised to be dealt with in the appropriate manner
  • Raising invoices
  • Raise invoices in response to requests form the residence teams
  • Raise invoices relating to commercial and university agreements
  • Monitor payments received
  • Assist with queries from residence and central services staff
  • Direct responsibility of a region within the portfolio
  • Resolve/execute queries sent in from the residence/Central Services teams
  • Assist with transition and configuration of new acquisitions
  • Set up new users and access levels
  • Training and supporting new staff on systems and processes
  • Debt Collection (liaising with company appointed solicitors)
  • Correspond with and instruct solicitors
  • Update student account notes with progress of the legal process
  • Process refunds
  • Raise cheque refunds/process bank transfers upon request
  • Process refunds via the DPS website upon departure of student
  • Support finance team during month end close
  • Completion of bank reconciliations
  • Completion of income reconciliations
  • Process intercompany cleardowns
  • Support systems improvement and development
  • Assist in the testing of upgrades on our systems
  • Ad hoc duties as required

The Successful Applicant

The successful Revenue Accountant will have:

  • Advanced Excel (VLookups & Pivot Tables)
  • Knowledge of bank reconciliations
  • Knowledge of inter-company transactions
  • Ability to work as part of a wider team
  • Capable of handling multiple work streams
  • Willingness to travel within the UK
  • Comfortable working to tight deadlines
