About Our Client

This Payroll Team Leader role will be a specialist level role and would suit an experienced payroll professional to support with complex queries and to manage high profile client payrolls.

Job Description

This Payroll Team Leader role will include:

* Manage a portfolio of client payrolls, ensuring a high level of service is provided at all times

*Make weekly payments to employees and self-employed contractors

*To process miscellaneous payments such as SSP, Holiday Pay, SMP, SSP to set deadlines

*Process employee expenses and deal with all queries relating to these

* Complete ad-hoc forms i.e. Job Seekers Allowance, Child Support, Student Loans etc. and ensure these are scanned onto the Contractor's account

*Provide supervision and guidance to a team of Payroll Administrators and Payroll Customer Service Advisors

*Assist with training and development of the Payroll Team

*Manage a portfolio of Clients, ensuring a high level of service is provided at all times

*Answer payroll queries from agencies or contractors in a professional manner, including escalated calls

*Ensure contractors worked hours are invoiced accurately on the relevant system and are sent to the agency by the relevant method and agency deadline.

*Maintain a record of all unpaid invoices and receipts

*Complete set routine daily and weekly tasks to strict deadlines

*To assist Customer Services to take calls when necessary to ensure a high level of customer service is maintained

*Provide support to Senior Operations Manager and Director as required

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate for this exciting payroll team leader role will be from a payroll background (in-house or external) and have a range of skills similar to the below;

*Previous Payroll experience (PAYE and Statutory Payments, Umbrella Companies, Self Employed contractors including CIS taxation

*A confident and professional telephone manner

*Ability to work to strict deadlines and to switch tasks easily

*Excellent customer service skills

*Proven experience in a fast paced, pressurised role

*Proven numerical skills are essential to the role

*Intermediate/Advanced MS Office accountancy skills

*Previous Payroll Team Leader / Supervisor experience ideal however not essential

*CIPP qualified would fit well to this role however study support is available should this be of interest

*Hours of Work: 38.5hrs, Monday to Friday 8.30am - 17.00pm with regular late shifts until 18.00pm - These hours are flexible and part time will be considered
