Job Description

  • To arrange the payment of staff salaries through the computerised payroll system. This will involve the collation and input of all relevant information for the monthly payroll (including new starters, leavers, benefits, contract changes, sickness absence payments, maternity and paternity pay, overtime, expenses, unpaid absences, holidays etc).
  • To calculate Ex pat pay
  • Prepare and process Bacs files for correct payment to all employees
  • To prepare, print and distribute payslips
  • Ensure leavers are processed correctly and are issued P45 documents upon departure of the
  • business
  • To administer the Statutory Sick Pay (SSP), Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP) and Statutory Paternity Pay schemes (SPP)
  • Prepare and process end of year filing and issue all employees with P60 documentation
  • To prepare and process P11D filing and ensure all employees and HMRC are in receipt of correct documentation and payments
  • Liaise with HMRC
  • To provide written notification to all staff of any changes in pay.
  • Provide advice to staff and managers in relation to pay, salary guidelines, taxation and National Insurance.
  • To ensure manual and computerised records are accurately maintained and updated regularly in line with data protection.
  • Assist in the administration of benefits schemes such as the pension and childcare voucher schemes.
  • Maintain internal database files and tables, and develop recurring or ad-hoc reports to meet the requirements and needs of the business
  • Gather data, data entry and compile statistical reports, and maintaining statistical information
  • Analyse data, interpreting the results, and providing a written summary of data analyses
  • Undertake compliance and audit reporting
  • Produce Monthly Management Reports and Accounts Journals as required
  • To work collaboratively and in a supportive manner within the HR team, the finance team and other departments to ensure that the overall aims and objectives are achieved
  • To resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analysing information
  • Maintain absolute discretion and maturity in handling sensitive/confidential data
  • Responsible for fleet management and reporting of all P11D's
  • Any other tasks defined by the manager within reasonable scope of work which is carried out by the department

The Successful Applicant

  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Experienced in payroll processing from start to finish inclusive of SMP, SMP, SPP, P11D and end of year
  • Sound knowledge of HMRC legislation
  • Strong communication skill, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Experience in payroll software, experience of Bond Payrite would be an advantage
