Job Description

The Payroll Officer role is based within Payroll department who work closely with Finance and HR

The role of the Payroll Officer is to assist the Payroll Team to produce the payroll in an accurate and timely manner

  • Assisting with the processing and end to end control of the UK Domestic Payroll
  • Supporting of an offshore processing team to offer UK Payroll technical knowledge
  • Investigating, resolving and responding to payroll technical employee enquiries and complaints
  • Processing of share awards through the payroll and meeting HMRC reporting requirements
  • Managing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Supporting the monthly payroll balancing to ensure accurate posting to the General Ledger and deliver 3rd party payments.

The Successful Applicant

  • Experience working on a UK Payroll
  • Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of Share processing and reporting is desirable but not essential
  • Experience working in General Ledger Accounting is desirable but not essential
  • Experience of using Oracle/PeopleSoft payroll system is desirable but not essential
  • Previous experience of delivering an excellent customer service
  • An open, flexible and supportive approach to change and innovation
  • Consistently achieved objectives set for them and taken action to improve their own performance
  • Self-awareness with confidence to work independently and take responsibility for own development
  • Both spoken and written communication skills with experience of sharing information effectively, in a clear, concise and professional manner
  • Experience of planning and prioritizing your own time effectively, aware of their responsibilities and committed to delivering these efficiently
  • Supported project teams/managers, showing an understanding of the basic principles of project management
  • Experience of personally complying with business processes, rules and regulations
