About Our Client

My client is an established business and professional services organisation who are looking to add to their core business accountancy function in the city centre of Birmingham. They're looking to recruit a Payroll Officer with end to end exposure to oversee the entire payroll.

Job Description

The ideal Payroll Officer candidate will have the following responsibilities:

  • Monthly and weekly payroll
  • Payroll query resolution
  • Employee benefits and pensions
  • Processing and inputting changes to employee data and records
  • Processing P45s, tax code changes, P6s, student loans and attachment of earnings orders
  • Calculating and processing statutory payments
  • Calculating all adjustments - holidays, absences, unpaid leave and adhoc deductions
  • Processing voluntary deductions
  • Casual time sheet processing
  • Data verification
  • Processing all aspects of payroll - starters, leavers, monthly salary increases and adjustments, secondments, overtime and pensions
  • Assistance and preparation of P11D's
  • Dealing with queries from employees, 3rd parties and HMRC

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate for the Payroll Officer vacancy will have the following attributes:

  • Strong end to end payroll exposure
  • Strong HMRC compliance knowledge
  • Knowledge of RTI, UK PAYE tax and NICs
  • Exposure to HR administration
