Job Description

The Payroll and Pensions Manager will be responsible for the Payroll of approximately 300 permanent staff and 200 casual staff. In addition to this the role will entail the management of both defined benefit and defined contribution pension schemes.

Other duties will also include:

  • Evaluate the efficiency of the costs of software and systems.
  • Reconcile monthly control accounts and process General Ledger journals.
  • Prepare monthly headcount summary with variance analysis.

The Successful Applicant

The Payroll and Pensions manager will need to use strong communication skills to build rapport and deal with payroll queries clearly, accurately and diplomatically.

Must be a skilled user of Ms Excel and experienced in using payroll and pension systems, ideally Cascade but not necessary.

Previous exposure working in a senior sole payroll position is preferred along with experience of journal entries and control account reconciliation.

What's on Offer

Salary of £35,000 - £40,000 plus excellent benefits.
