About Our Client

My client is looking to hire a payroller to join the team, this is a varied role and would suit somebody who is looking for career progression in a growing company. The offices are based in Central Wimbledon and provide great transport links, they have a large and friendly Finance team, who regularly socialise with each other.

Job Description

  • Processing and running the monthly employee (2000 employees + 50 client payrolls) and pensioner payrolls including the administration of new starters, leavers, promotions, salary increases, bonuses, SSP and OSP, SMP and production of P45s and P60s
  • Ensure all payroll systems reflect current staff data including, starters, leavers and permanent amendments to current employee's employment terms and investigate and resolve discrepancies
  • Enter variable payments and deductions into the payroll systems to include part time hours, petty cash, expenses, unpaid leave and fleet related deductions. This is not a definitive list
  • Assist with the calculation and reconciliation of all commission payments
  • Assist with the administration of the auto enrolment pension schemes including the reconciliation of employee and employer pension contributions and membership enrolment both in-house and with the pension provider
  • Distribute payslips and leaver P45's
  • Print client HMRC notifications i.e.P6's, P9's and SL1's and SL2's using the HMRC gateway dashboard
  • Assist with the balancing of the client HMRC payments & help with the investigation of any issues
  • Input each client tax & NIC related data into the client payroll P35 schedule
  • Input any employment allowance recovery into the client employment allowance recovery schedule
  • Carry out tasks ordinarily performed by the Senior Payroll Administrator during periods of absence
  • Assist other team members of the team to cover tasks during busy periods and absences
  • Analyse all expense claims processed by the Accounts department in line with Dispensation & PSA agreement terms. This task will involve determining items that are to be declared to HMRC. In addition, costs need to be divided between staff members as appropriate.
  • Maintain maternity leave schedule so the Payroll department has an up to date schedule of all employees currently on maternal/paternal/adoption leave to enable effective payslip distribution
  • Assist with the preparation and checking of client payrolls

The Successful Applicant

  • At least 2 years experience in payroll
  • Less than an hour commute to Wimbledon
  • Good attention to detail
  • Enthusiastic
