About Our Client

My client is based near Woking, and will need a candidate who drives as it is not accessible via public transport. This is a part time credit controller position.

Job Description

Part Time Credit Controller

    1. Maintain close and effective links with the customers, ensuring that they pay on time and problems are identified and dealt with at an early stage.
    2. All customers with invoices overdue for payment must be contacted on a weekly basis with the credit control notes accurately updated showing the current status of debt and the action points discussed. All action points must be followed up in a timely manner until the debt has been paid.
    3. All customers with invoices >£20k must be contacted immediately to ensure they have copies of the invoices and that the payment terms are understood.
    4. Maintain and monitor staged payment log for Show exhibitor payments.
    5. A busy period, in May and July, result in a considerable increase in both invoicing and credit control, with invoices having to be paid before the event - work needs to be planned accordingly.
    6. Ensure Shows invoices are imported onto Navision on a daily basis.
    7. Regularly talk to the relevant staff to ensure that you are aware of all invoicing issues and ensure that they are aware of what has been invoiced and any debtor issues.
    8. Develop other debtor management information and alert the Financial Accountant to debtor problems at the earliest opportunity.
    9. Set up new customer accounts and maintain credit payment history.
    10. Assist with the raising of sales invoices within 48 hours of receiving a request, as well as daily posting of sales orders onto Navision.
    11. Assist the Financial Accountant with any ad-hoc accounting tasks.
    12. To undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required of you in the post.

The Successful Applicant

  • Highly organised
  • Assertive
  • Credit control experience preferred but not essential
  • Background working in an accounts environment or exposure to invoicing is highly desirable
  • Must have an excellent telephone manner and communicate effectively via email
