This Part Qualified Financial Analyst position will be key in driving commercial output to further improve the business divisions success.

Job Description

Part Qualified Financial Analyst key responsibilities and Duties:

  • Financial Reporting: prepare consolidated financial information, ensuring accuracy and consistency, throughout the monthly reporting cycle. Includes the preparation of results analysis to key stakeholders, including regional management teams and the upload from SAP to Group consolidation system and preparation of supporting schedules.
  • Financial Planning: support the budgeting and forecasting process, including dealing directly with cost centre owners to forecast accurate costs.
  • Financial Accounting: Prepare month end procedures, including monthly journals, such as accruals, payroll, fx revaluations, and ensuring a fully reconciled balance sheet. Directing the shared service centre to ensure accurate posting of transactions throughout the month, and control payments to suppliers. Includes ledger maintenance, reconciliations, general ledger transaction processing and reporting of historical financial information.
  • Statutory Accounting: work with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure timely completion of audits for group reporting, and also preparation of legal entity statutory accounts. Preparation of Group Tax Information pack, preparation of vat return, liaise with HMRC on VAT, EC sales and intrastat matters and prepare Group annual insurance return.
  • Treasury: work with the Divisional Treasury Manager and Group Plc Treasury team to support financing entities/projects, and monitoring of cash positions of the division. Identifying hedging requirements, effecting appropriate hedges and accounting for hedges under IAS39
  • Internal Controls: ensure adequate financial controls in place to protect assets.
  • Policies & Procedures: ensure the business is compliant with all Group financial policies and procedures, such as delegation of authority, expense procedures, capex applications, foreign exchange, etc. Comply with and promote business ethics, data protection and health & safety.
  • Communication: maintain open and clear lines of communications with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement: drive efficiency's within Finance team and wider business, including looking for opportunities to transfer further transaction processing work into shared services. Challenging the business on all areas of process and cost control.
  • Ad-hoc projects/requests: complete various ad-hoc projects as required, including the opportunity to get involved in SAP enhancements and support.

The Successful Applicant

Position/Individual Requirements:

  • Professionally part qualified, (ACCA/ CIMA/ ACA), and educated to a degree level.
  • A conscientious approach to reporting and thirst for analysis and problem solving.
  • Comfortable working with different cultures.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Experience of dealing with large organisations and consolidations is an advantage.
  • Experience working with SAP is an advantage.
