Job Description

  • Prepare in accordance with prescribed procedures Wills, Powers of Attorney and associated documentation for revision.
  • Compile sets of instructions to Solicitors for more complex Scottish, and initially, all English, Wills.
  • Provide information on the Wills service to Bank customers and to clients of the firm verbally and in writing.
  • Discuss individual clients' requirements with them, referring them as required to the Wills Managers.
  • Record all notified changes of client details on the Bank's/Firm's Wills databases to ensure that they remain accurate and up-to-date.
  • Archive and retrieve Will files as required.
  • Manage, update and maintain the Wills and Power of Attorney Tracking Systems.
  • Provide admin support to Head of Trustee Services on an ad hoc basis. This will span all aspects of Trustee services - Wills, Trusts and Executries.
  • Prepare prescribed Management Information on a monthly basis.

The Successful Applicant

  • Paralegal/STEP qualified
  • Extensive experience of preparing and drafting Wills, Powers of Attorney and associated documentation.
  • Ability to provide advice and guidance on all aspects of Will and Power of Attorney preparation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and contacts, internal and external, at all levels.
  • Takes initiative to manage own time, and demonstrates ability to plan, prioritise and manage workload.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to confidently and articulately deal with all parties.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to produce high quality and accurate work.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Computer literate, with experience in Microsoft packages, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel to an advanced level.
