About Our Client
Our client is a national parcels business with locations all over the UK. They are going through a period of growth after winning several contracts and are looking to recruit the best in the industry.
As the Operations Manager you will have the opportunity to manage the busy morning shift. You will take a handover in the morning from the night shift and lead the remaining dispatch operation.
Reporting to the General Manager of the site. You will effectively hold responsibility for all aspects of the daytime operation. The Manager must ensure synergy between all components to ensure the daytime operation runs smoothly, is in line with legislative and safety regulations, that material is processed in accordance with compliance procedures and is available for further distribution throughout the network at scheduled times.
You will manage c. 30 staff in the goods in and goods out areas of the warehouse.
The day time manager must ensure packages are scanned on time and are clearly designated to areas to ensure full visibility to the wider network and our customers.
Furthermore, the AM Operations Manager holds a direct customer-facing role that requires precise management to strike the balance between offering a cost effective, comprehensive service within relevant legislative standards whilst not impacting the traditional core operation.
Hours of work 06:00 - 14:30 with some flexibility 24/7.
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate for the Operations Manager role MUST have the following skills and experiences:
- Express Parcels experience
- Fully flexible on shifts
- Managed 20+ staff in a Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain operation
- A desire to work at a more senior position in the newar future
- Demonstrable experience of projects
- Automated warehouse experience desirable
- Logistics Degree or similar desirable
- Able to commute to the site near Derby on a daily basis
