About Our Client

My client is one of the UK's largest service providers within their respective field. They operate in highly regulated markets from the multiple strategic sites across the UK and have established an enviable reputation for delivering an excellent bespoke service to clients within various industries such as Highways, Rail, Construction, Local Authority and Utility Sectors.

They are looking to add an experienced Operations Co-ordinator to their team in West Lothian. It is a rare opportunity to join a very well established team.

Job Description

The overall purpose of this position is to maximise effective utilisation of depot resources and operations labour. In order to achieve this you must have a full understanding of the operational and technical capabilities of Operational Units under your control, which will allow you to ensure they operate in a safe and efficient manner.

The responsibilities that the successful candidate will possess are as follows:

  • Work with key clients in ensuring that their delivery expectations are met
  • Manage end to end process from job generation through delivery, invoicing and any subsequent queries
  • Ensure that you and all personnel under your control comply with all relevant health and safety legislation and follow approved procedure and systems of work and that correct PPE is used and maintained to a satisfactory condition
  • Ensure that adequate resources are available to effectively deliver on projects / programme of works by effective proactive communication with line manager
  • Ensure that all compliance based checks and tests are undertaken on the plant, vehicles and equipment under your control
  • Monitor the condition of operational plant and equipment under your control and deal with issues of misuse / abuse through the right channels
  • Ensure that all personnel under your control are adequately trained and competent to undertake the tasks which are allotted to them including competence in use of plant, equipment and materials and that they are fully aware of the hazards associated with any task to which they are deployed

The Successful Applicant

The successful Operations Co-ordinator will possess the following attributes / skills:

  • Experience working within Engineering Services, Utilities or the Water / Waste Water Industries
  • Strong decision maker with good influencing and organisational skills.
  • Professional and disciplined individual
  • Possess the ability to lead a "customer focussed" approach to all aspects of work
  • Ability to be able to monitor and manage workflow effectively
  • Adept at working in a fast paced environment
  • Proven record of good time management and effective prioritisation skills
