About Our Client

The client is a leading retailer and manufacturer globally. you will be based at their fast paced site in Ashford, Kent.

Job Description

To support the Ashford factory facilities engineering function for the Organisation with capital projects, engineering budgets and day-to-day engineering support.

Attend regular team meetings reviews with the Facilities Manager to determine consistent and agreed working methods are adopted in relation to:

  • Equipment Safety
  • Engineering procedures and practices (EP program)
  • Equipment/Parts standardization
  • Engineering stores procurement principles
  • SAP purchasing & budget analysis

To ensure compliance to the policies of European and U.K legislation.

To assist the Organisation in meeting the business supply requirements for customer service at lowest possible cost and specified quality.

Identify productivity and cost saving opportunities, and the support of capital projects.

Assist in devising and implementing an appropriate maintenance strategy for the range of assets within the Value Stream. Control this using a PPM review system.

Working in-conjunction with the Facilities Manager to support the introduction of new equipment and system requirements to ensure Facilities can correctly support the needs of the ever changing business needs of the site.

To support the management of the maintenance and engineering function to ensure optimum operation within the Organisation.

To assist in the management of assets and ensure health, safety and environmental requirements are met.

To ensure consistent and agreed engineering working methods are employed across the site.

Ensure all equipment is maintained on a scheduled basis and new equipment/tooling guarantees all products produced meet the required quality specification. Provide engineering support for the continuous improvement of product quality.

The Successful Applicant

  • Served an Engineering Apprenticeship with Technicians certificate or ONC/HNC
  • Facilities engineering experience - Industry or Service sector
  • Multi skilled with a mechanical engineering bias
  • Electrically competent working up to 415vac
  • Experience with "Building Maintenance Systems"
  • PLC's knowledge would be an advantage.
  • C&G / ONC Modules in the following skill sets….
  1. Steam raising plant
  2. Refrigeration (HVAC)
  3. Compressed air & drying systems
  4. Water treatment including effluent plant
  5. Dust extraction systems
  6. Water distribution systems
