About Our Client

Our client are looking for a Management Accountant to join the Finance team on a 6 month contract.

Job Description

Your duties for this Management Accountant position are as follows;

  • Maintain a contract database of all financial and legal terms for all contracts including licenses, maintenance, and SOWs
  • Assist in maintaining all master file data in the project tracking system including billing rates, cost rates, employees, expenses and hours recorded (training required as new system)
  • Oversee the billing process and ensure sales invoices are processed promptly to maximize cash flow
  • Perform collection pre-calls and collection escalation to ensure that payment terms are sustained at 30 days
  • Ensure expense forms are processed in a timely manner and paid in compliance with the UK Expenses Policy
  • Ensure all vendor invoices are properly approved and are processed for payment
  • Prepare and post all journal entries for the Financial Controller including prepayment, Accruals, Accrued and Deferred Income and payroll journal.
  • Complete required balance sheet reconciliations (bank, accrued income, deferred income, prepayment, accruals, fixed assets, wages, NI and VAT) on time and report all variances / discrepancies to UK Financial Controller each month.
  • Assist UK Financial Controller with project forecasting and overhead projections.
  • Develop, document and implement project tracking system processes and structures which support requirements of the business.
  • Develop, document and implement billing processes.
  • Develop, document and implement month end closing processes including all reconciliations.
  • Respond to and adhere to all internal and external customer queries relating to project accounting.
  • Understand and promote organisational values across the business

The Successful Applicant

  • Accounting Qualifications required (studying or qualified for AAT, ACCA or CIMA exams).
  • Performing a variety of elements of Management Accounts (regardless of size of entity) for a minimum of 2 years
  • Ideally knowledge of contract accounting and recognition of revenue based on a % complete basis.
  • Ability to establish and maintain standard costs within an Accounts Package (i.e. purchase ledger and expenses)
  • Working knowledge of the entire MS Office Suites; specifically Excel (preferably advanced user skills)
  • Ability to run reports and interpret data to the business and make it meaningful and insightful.
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional level of accuracy in a fast paced and growing organization.
  • Able to multi task, work independently and meet strict deadlines while adhering to internal processes and month end reporting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and high level of internal customer service skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, assume responsibility, display initiative and exercise good judgement.
  • Knowledge of integration and importing of data within multiple systems
  • Excellent procedural development and project management skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics (AX) / NetSuite would be highly preferential.
