Our client has been highly successful since established 25 years ago and are currently recruiting for a Management Accountant / Finance Manager to join the team.

Job Description

Role Summary

Under the guidance of the Finance Director and Managing Director, to oversee and manage the financial activities of the company, prepare reports as required by the company and by law. Keep the Directors up to date with the financial performance of the company and any other issues.

Main Responsibilities

  • Day to day cash flow management, ownership of the annual budgets and reporting on actuals
  • Preparation of monthly reporting pack and producing monthly management accounts within strict timeframes - Deadline of preparing the management accounts- 7th of the month

  • Overseeing the running of the Credit Control department - Management of credit control function to ensure the timely collection of debt, resolving any issues with customer concerns, BDP and ensuring the smooth running of the department
  • Overseeing the Purchase Ledger department - managing the daily running of the team and dealing with supplier issues and payment concerns
  • Managing payroll department and employee concerns ie regarding wage/salary deductions or tax codes
  • Reconciliation of NatWest bank accounts including currency accounts and RBS invoice discounting account
  • Monthly reconciliation of debtors control account for RBS within deadline
  • Prepare and input monthly journals and analyse control accounts, in preparation for production of management accounts
  • Preparation, reconciliation and submission of monthly VAT returns
  • Preparation and filing of monthly Government Statistics and Intrastats
  • Dealing with employee's monthly pension submission
  • Analysis and control of employee credit cards and expenses and preparation of P11D forms
  • Updating and maintaining the company's fixed asset register
  • Updating and maintaining the company's motor vehicle and equipment leasing documentation
  • Liaising with the company's auditors during the annual audit
  • Liaising with the Bank's auditor to ensure a complete and successful audit
  • Preparation of cash-flow forecasts and balance sheet projections
  • Improving the flow and quality of financial information which is available and developing the company's accounting procedures where required

The Successful Applicant

  • ACCA / CIMA Finalist or Part Qualified
  • Solid experience in industry as a management accountant / Finance Manager
  • Management experience highly desirable
  • To work effectively in all situations with minimal support.
  • Have the ability to manage time and prioritise workload with confidence and efficiency.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills in written and verbal skills - articulate

What's on Offer

Salary range is broad £35,000 - £45,000 as our client is considering different levels of experience.
