About Our Client

Our client is a leading communications business based in Huddersfield, after a recent restructure in the department our client is now looking to recruit a HR Advisor to help provide advisory support to the UK offices.

Job Description

Reporting into the HR Manager, the duties and responsibilities include:

  • Provide an effective and dedicated HR advisory service in relation to absence management, conduct and capability, grievance matters and employee relations matters.
  • Support managers with the effective and efficient performance of their employees, identifying and facilitating appropriate interventions through the appraisal processes.
  • Guide managers through employee relations cases in real time, intervening and steering in the appropriate direction taking account of governing policies, employment law, best practice and precedent.
  • To actively participate in the management of casework, relating to sickness absence. This includes making recommendations, giving advice and support to managers, liaising with Occupational Health, case review meetings with employees and managers.
  • To keep up to date with developments in employment legislation and human resources best practice, knowledge sharing with the team to ensure continuous improvement in the service offered. Identify and communicate these implications to business areas as appropriate.
  • Analyse weekly and monthly KPI's on sickness, flexi and bonus information taking action and making recommendations as appropriate.
  • Contribute to and support the continuous improvement of HR systems, practices and policies in the organisation, ensuring they meet current legislation.
  • Consult on issues related to workplace relations and performance management. * Prepare and deliver briefings over a range of HR related topics.
  • Provide an advisory service to employees ensuring that they are fully aware of their rights and entitlements. * Compile and interpret HR information using bespoke information systems including accessing, inputting and compiling data.
  • Support the HR director and HR Manager to improve organisational performance by driving core business objectives.
  • Assist and lead where appropriate on other Human Resources projects and activities.
  • Recruitment - Own the recruitment process. Supporting line managers with the recruitment process. Networking with suppliers and externally to promote employer branding.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience within a generalist HR advisory role - essential
  • CIPD Qualified - essential
  • Basic employment law knowledge - essential
  • Proactive - ability to adapt to change and suggest improvements - essential
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment (preferable industry backgrounds include Manufacturing, Distribution, Logistics, Retail) - essential
  • Trade Union experience & TUPE experience - desirable

What's on Offer

Great salary on offer; £35,000, 40 hours per week and 25 days holiday plus stats.
