About Our Client

My Client is a leading Social Housing Provider who is currently seeking an outstanding Health and Safety Officer to join their Manchester department.

Job Description

As a Health & Safety Officer you will be responsible for;

Carry out audits to check compliance with the H&S and fire standards and policy

Supporting the business in all legislative compliance areas, with particular focus on health & safety, fire and environment
Carry out accident investigations and champion necessary changes required to prevent recurrence
Liaise and be the first point of contact to external enforcing bodies and providers
Provide expertise and guidance to ensure Trade Counter's regulatory compliance
Provide training to teams on Health and Safety best practice
Identify and review Health & Safety processes and policies and make recommendations for improvements to the Health and Safety Manager
Ensure Health and Safety risk assessments are carried out and ensure all risk control measures are implemented

The Successful Applicant

Experience of managing external enforcing authorities
Holder of recognised qualification NEBOSH or equivalent
Experience in advising on H&S issues in a multi-site Health Care or Social Housing environment and in interpreting H&S legislation to managers and staff.
Experience of carrying out accident investigations
Experience of delivering training to staff on health and safety is advantageous
The ability to undertake H&S and fire audits, inspections and risk assessments is essential accompanied by the ability to effectively communicate findings.
