My client is one of the UK's leading general insurance and financial services companies.

Job Description

  • Reporting to a Finance Business Partner the role will include the following duties:-
  • Support the Finance Business Partners during the reforecast and budget processes for the Divisions and Group
  • Drive Month end and quarter end reporting, including production of a regular MI pack
  • Support the Activity Based Costing process for the Group
  • Engage with the business and understand business dynamics, costs and benefits
  • Research, organise and present relevant business MI
  • Assist in the development of business planning models for the production of business forecasts / budgets and business plans
  • Review processes to actively look for improvements and efficiencies to ensure quality of output
  • Provide support to both the PPA Business Partner and Divisions as required providing challenge and insight to key business decisions
  • Provide financial support and advice to the Group on development of business cases
  • Participate in department/Group projects as required

The Successful Applicant

  • Financial acumen - qualified accountant with proven track record
  • Demonstrated financial knowledge of modeling, analysis, evaluation, and forecasting with strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to gather and analyse internal and external data from a wide range of sources in order to drive commercial insight
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines within a team environment and demonstrate resilience under pressure
  • Ability to manage own workload and prioritise accordingly
  • Confident and credible in front of senior management
  • Strong communication and presentation skills and the ability to work with people at all levels within both the Finance department and the wider business
  • Ability to explain complex financial information in written and verbal form to financial and non-financial people
  • Strong IT skills to include spreadsheet and data manipulation skills, with particular reference to MS Excel and Business Objects. Knowledge of Nav Dynamics/Accounting systems and Corporate Planner would be advantageous but not essential
  • Strong continuous improvement / change management skills
